Thanks for your interest in the Master’s in Emergency Medicine Program (International) at Max Healthcare! Exciting changes, bright future, dynamic and cutting edge are just a few phrases that come to mind when I think about the current and future direction of Max Healthcare and particularly the EM program. I have been in academic medicine, a practicing Physician and an administrator, for more than 3 decades and I have had the opportunity to work with many quality, highly trained healthcare professionals. In my opinion, the medical staff we have assembled here at Max Healthcare is second to none.
From the physicians and nurses to our leadership team and other professionals, we all share in a common goal - to provide patient centric care in a timely, efficient, effective and safe environment, which is measurable and sustainable.
Over the past five years I have witnessed extraordinatory changes at Max Healthcare: a brand new, state of the art critical care tower and operating rooms, the addition of world renowned faculty. These changes have allowed Max Healthcare to become a leader in the health care field in the region.
The EM program at Max Healthcare has mirrored the growth, success and development of the institution. Max Healthcare offers emergency physicians the opportunity to provide care in a very busy, high acuity Emergency Department for patients.
Over the years this program has grown into a robust academic training program for over 27 fellows. There are established programs and faculty expertise in research, ultrasound, simulation, shock/critical care, medical student education, health policy, disaster management, pediatric emergency medicine, and toxicology. Max Healthcare is also trauma center and our residents gain tremendous experience with all types of traumatic injuries. Over the past five years, Max Healthcare’s critical care exposure has exploded.
As CEO and Managing Director, I take pride in being part of a large committed family of Emergency Medicine. Our faculty has considerable expertise and provides outstanding education to our fellows. I have learned that the hallmark of a quality program lies in its ability to successfully train all fellows through individualized attention. Each fellow is paired with a faculty mentor to provide frequent and timely feedback and support. As a team, we are able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each fellow, helping them optimize their potential. My goal for each resident during their training at Max Healthcare is threefold: 1) become an outstanding, well-rounded EM clinician 2) develop an area of academic interest through research or by participating in one of the many academic tracks 3) set personal goals. MEM is both an exciting and challenging time in your life and I feel strongly each fellow should maintain a healthy balance between work and personal interests.
If you are looking for a training program with a high acuity, culturally diverse patient population, a high-energy, friendly faculty with a wide range of academic interests, a program with a strong sense of family, a program able to provide individualized attention and the opportunity to work alongside a tremendous group of people… the fellows and nurses (while having a lot of fun along the way too!), then Max Healthcare may very well be the EM program for you. I encourage you to look at Max Healthcare as a place to train and eventually become part of the Max Healthcare family and tradition.
With Best Wishes
Dr. Pervez Ahmed
CEO & MD
