An academic emergency department: residents' perspective

Dear ALL

Today is another RED LETTER DAY FOR MAX EMERGENCY MEDICINE TEAM.

I can see today the morning of 16th July 2008 when I joined this department with 15 another EM aspirants to sail through unchartered sea of Developing Emergency Medicine in National Capital Region and beyond.

Today we are 45 (with a total of 60), we are sailing through well and off course with a compass which directs us to Academic Emergency Medicine: The Road towards Excellence. We have always looked at others as models from whichever corner of the world they belong and tried to learn the best practices. In turn we evolved as a model which is based locally but valid globally.

When Maya Jose walked into my office with a proposal to write an article on our journey I was not only surprised but skeptical. She and her better half Dr Anish James (Presently in PGY3) came and explained me repeatedly on how we are unique and what is the learning we can offer to the rest of the world.

The article titled An academic emergency department: residents' perspective published in World Journal of Emergency Medicine, Vol 3, No 1, 2012 not only depicted our journey but also projected the life EM from residents perspective.
