ICEM 2012: POST CONFERENCE REPORT



ICEM 2012 was conducted and concluded with galore of ideas and promises to build International Emergency Medicine in global perspective.

This year IFEM has also choosen the new Board members in which Prof Cecil James ( Jim) Holliman was elected as the next President. Apart from an advisor to SEMI Jim is also an adjunct Professor of EM @ George Washington University. We have lot of expectation from Jim and IFEM in future in terms of building Emergency Medicine network in South East Asia.

In the International EM Track Dr Narendranath Jena; Consultant & HOD, Dept of EM, Madurai Meenakshi Mission, TN & Vice President, SEMI TN Chapter represented SEMI ( As I could not reach Dublin) to deliver the talk on Emergency Medicine in India. Apart from India; Denmark ( Dan Brown Peterson), Africa ( Lee Wallis), Switzerland (Daniel Garcia), Yemen ( Mohammad Al Afsoor) and Colombia (Juan Gutierrez) was also showcased in the same section. The Talk on India was widely appreciated by International EM Community as well as NRI EM physicians settled in Europe.

SEMI has become the full member of IFEM this year and will now be concentrating to develop the EM connections with other societies across the globe.
