Please join me to congratulate Prof H S Rissam for getting selected as Member, Board of Governors, Medical Council of India. Prof Rissam is one of the Guest Faculty to the Masters in Emergency Medicine Program at Max Healthcare in affiliation with George Washington University. In addition he is also a thesis guide to one of our PGY3 resident. He is a strong proponent of Emergency Medicine Education in India.
Prof Rissam is known to me personally as a mentor, well wisher and a great senior colleague at our hospital. His support and best wishes is always with us for our mission to EARN RESPECT FOR EMERGENCY MEDICINE.

BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Rissam has done his MBBS from Government Medical College – Amritsar in the year 1975, MD (Medicine) in 1977 with “First Order Medal, Best Post Graduate Position” and DM (Cardiology) in 1980 from PGIMER, Chandigargh. Dr. Rissam has distinguished academic career and has remained outstanding throughout. He achieved 1st position in Pre-Medical, and 1st Class in J & K Pre- University Examinations (PUC)

Dr. Rissam is associated with number of prestigious professional bodies like Indian Society of Electrocardiology, Indian College of Cardiology, International College of Chest Physicians, American College of Chest Physicians etc. and also the Executive Committee Member in Cardiological Society of India, Governing Council Member in Indian College of Cardiology and Vice President in Academy of Fine Arts and Literature Delhi, India to name a few.

Dr. Rissam has been conferred with PADMA SHREE AWARD from the President of India in the year 2006 and has received more than twenty honours, awards, citations from different Scientific, Academic and Social Societies. Dr. Rissam has published more than 100 publications in National & International Medical Journals.

Dr. Rissam brings with him 30 years of experience in Cardiology & Medicine and prior to joining Max, he was associated with Batra Hospital & Medical Research Centre, New Delhi as Director Medical Sciences, Senior Interventional Cardiologist.

Dr Rissam is also an avid writer and has been an author of a medical thriller named SCALPEL.
