In the era of PAN SCAN there seems to be very little sensibility in ordering CT SCANs. Emergency Departments in India are badly hit in radiation hazard to patients for the following reasons
1. Lack of Trained ER physicians
2. Lack of Proper scanning protocol
3. Decision of scanning often driven by admitting specialty
4. Lack of Ultrasound training and availability of Ultrasound machines in ER
5. Low faith or forgotten art of interpreting XRAYs
.... and so on and so forth................
