TRAUMA 2011: PUNIDHA K WINS TWO LAURELS


November brings lot of Conferences and therefore laurels to Academic Emergency Departments in India. Trauma 2011, the fourth Annual International Conference of Indian Society of Trauma and Acute Care (ISTAC) (www.trauma2011.in) was held at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences between 9th and 13th November on a theme of CONNECTING CRISIS TO CARE.

The conference was partnered by R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, Baltimore USA, University of South Florida USA, University of Michigan USA, Institute of Road Traffic Education, National Disaster Management Authority India, JPN Apex Trauma Center New Delhi and many more institutions.

The Department of EM, Max Healthcare participated into Award Research Paper session and Poster competition.

AWARD 1
ISTAC bursaries for 10 best research works in the field of Trauma Care
The travel bursaries will be awarded to bright and young doctors (less than 35 years) and nurses (less than 40 years) who will send their research papers for presentation at the TRAUMA 2011 Conference. The Bursaries Include:
Certificate of Honour
Refund of Registration Fee
Guest House accommodation on twin sharing basis in Delhi for the length of the Conference
Podium presentation of the research work in the Award Paper Session

While Deepak presented his case report with lot of enthusiasm Punidha made us proud by winning two prizes

2. 2nd Prize in Award Paper session

(First prize went to Gaurav Chhabra from JPNATC who presented on Coagulopathy as a prognostic predictor following isolated acute traumatic brain injury: A prospective study)
